Compliance & Certifications

Coffee for Wholesale that meets US compliance from day one

The reason most importing falls apart isn't the coffee — it's the paperwork. We ship FSSC 22000 + FSMA documentation, FDA-compliant labeling, and organic / Fair Trade certificates with every container. Your QA team gets the packet in their inbox, not a follow-up email three weeks later.

Certifications stack

What we hold, and what it means for your buyer

FSSC 22000

Food safety management system certified under the Global Food Safety Initiative scheme. The certification every major grocery chain, foodservice distributor, and private label buyer asks for first.

FSMA preventive controls

US Food Safety Modernization Act compliance for imported food. PCQI on staff, written food safety plan, FSVP-ready documentation for your importer of record.

USDA Organic

Certified organic on supported lots and finished goods. NOP-compliant from farm through processing. Organic transaction certificate ships with each shipment.

Fair Trade USA, Rainforest Alliance, Kosher

Available on request and on qualifying lots. Each program adds about 2 weeks to first-time onboarding for that specific SKU.

Documentation that ships

The paperwork your QA team needs, in one packet

No chasing emails. Every container leaves with the same standardized documentation pack — see the full breakdown in our coffee importing documentation guide.

01

Per-lot

Certificate of analysis (moisture, density, Agtron, defect count). Roast profile log if finished goods. Lot traceability back to harvest and farm.

02

Per-shipment

Phytosanitary certificate, ICO marks, packing list, commercial invoice with HTS codes, certificate of origin. DDP shipments include customs entry summary.

03

Per-program

Food safety plan summary, FSVP records, allergen statement, GMO statement, kosher certificate (if applicable), organic transaction certificate (if applicable).

Audit support

When your buyer audits you, we back you up

Grocery chains, foodservice distributors, and category buyers audit suppliers regularly. When they audit you, the trail leads back to us. We're built for that conversation.

01

Document request — 48h

Any document on file, sent within 48 hours. Most within the same business day. Your audit doesn't stall waiting on us.

02

Virtual plant tour

For buyers and auditors who can't travel. We schedule live walkthroughs of the plant, the lab, and the documentation room. Recorded if you need it for the file.

03

On-site audits welcomed

Your QA team, your buyer's auditor, third-party — all welcome at the plant. We pre-stage documentation and run the audit on your timeline.

FAQ — Compliance

Does coffee require an FDA prior notice for US import?

Yes. Every shipment requires FDA prior notice. We file it (or coordinate with your customs broker) before the container leaves.

Are you FSVP-ready?

Yes. Our documentation supports your importer of record's FSVP obligations. We've passed FSVP-related buyer audits.

Can my organic SKU lose its certification in transit?

Not if it ships with the organic transaction certificate and the chain of custody documentation we provide. We've never had a buyer denied organic recognition due to our paperwork.

What happens if a buyer requests a certification you don't currently hold?

Depends on the certification. Most additions take 2-12 weeks. We'll quote the timeline and the cost honestly before committing.

Need to see the compliance pack before you commit?

Email us and we'll send a sample documentation packet from a recent shipment — redacted of client names, complete on everything else.
